Sean Fleming had a hat trick as Rancocas Valley held off West Deptford 4-3 in action played at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. RV led 1-0 after the first period on Fleming’s first goal assisted by Peter Heinz. The lead grew to 3-0 as Fleming and Ryan Gifford scored six minutes apart in the second period. RV goalie Mike Cobb was perfect through two periods having stopped all 21 shots. West Deptford got back in the game early in the third period as Andrew Whalin and Andrew Neary scored goal ninety seconds apart to cut the lead to 3-2.
Fleming responded less than two minutes later as he completed his hat trick and the lead was now 4-2. West Deptford got one back with just under five minutes remaining, and with a two-man advantage, JT Flood made it 4-3. But RV killed the second half of the penalty and held on for the victory.
