Daylight savings time has been an issue lately as we get closer and closer to the winter months. It looked as if this South Jersey Group II boy’s soccer game between Middle Township and Sterling would go on forever. After the fifth seed Middle Township’s second half goal sent this game into overtime, Sterling would respond finally give the home crowd something to cheer about. It would take a second overtime period to determine the winner. Scott Kent made good on his scoring opportunity and gave the fourth seeded Knights from Sterling a 2-1 overtime win.

Neither team could find the right bounces go their way in the first half. The Silver Knights would score early in the second half by taking advantage of a corner kick. Matt Opperman sent ball toward the net and Andy Meyers header gave Sterling a one goal advantage. Right back fought the Panthers as Joey DiCicco tied the game sending this first round tournament game into overtime. Jake Vollman would assist on Kent’s gaming winning goal.
