West Deptford Kicks Offense into High Gear, Shuts Down Sterling

The girl's soccer team from West Deptford went out on the field at Sterling High School and dominated the play both offensively and defensively. Head coach John Cobb was very actively instructing his team on their way to a 5-0 victory. Scoring chances were plentiful for the Lady Eagles as the early lead led to a team relaxed and playing smart for the rest of the game. Jenna Lindsay scored twice for the Eagles and Colleen Hee who played all but the final minutes of the game preserved the shutout.

West Deptford kept control of the field position for majority of the first half. Something the Lady Eagles have demonstrated so far this season. With previous wins over Collingswood and Audubon, the Eagles are keeping pace with Haddonfield in the Colonial Conference Liberty Division.

Already with a 1-0 lead after Lindsay's goal at the 12:48, Ashley Antczak scored five minutes later and West Deptford jumped ahead by two goals. Christine Stetson got the assist on that goal, but then scored the first goal of the second half from a corner kick just 4:35 into the second half. Antczak had a golden chance to get her second goal of the game but her shot hit the left post and Lindsay was right there to deposit the rebound into the net. Stephanie Hitchner assisted by Ashley Battilana scored the last goal of the game.
