Triton defeated Cherry Hill West 7-5 on Friday night at Hollydell in a SJHSIHL game. Triton's offense generated fifty-eight shots, twenty-four in the last period. Mike Wanton and Mike Dandurand tallied two goals each to pace the Triton attack. Alex Vasserman had three goals and two assists to pace West. Wanton scored just over two minutes into the game to give Triton the 1-0 lead, with Ed Skomsky getting the assist. Ninety seconds later Bud Flick made it 2-0 and it seemed as if the rout was on, however, with West on the power play Vasserman cut the lead in half as he scored unassisted.

In a period dominated by Triton, it looked as if their lead would be only one goal. But with thirty-six seconds remaining, Wanton notched his second to make it 3-1. Midway through the second period Vasserman scored his second unassisted power play goal on a breakaway and it was 3-2. But two minutes later Dan Brill scored for Triton on the power play to make it 4-2. West would not quit however, as Davidson scored a short-handed goal near the end of the second period and the lead was cut to 4-3. Dandurand would put the game out of reach as he scored two goals in less than a minute and the lead was 6-3.Vasserman and Moffett scored for West to make it 6-5 but Triton forward Joe Welsh closed out the scoring at 7-5.
