High School Softball:
Triton Continues to Prepare for Postseason

With so much focus on qualifying for the upcoming softball tournament, there's a tendency to forget about winning the conference or division title. Triton needed every win during the regular season in order to keep pace with or move ahead of Shawnee in the Olympic Conference Patriot Division. The Mustangs' victory over the Shawnee yesterday plus their 11-1 win over West Deptford has pushed them on top of the race. For West Deptford, the loss has put them in the position of winning their next two games in order to qualify them for the post season.

The Lady Eagles still have a chance to qualify for the upcoming tournament but they will need to win their games against Haddon Township and Gateway. They will have to take it one game at a time. The way this game started off, West Deptford briefly lead this game after their first at bat. Triton would tie the game at a run apiece but eventually began to pull away. Starting pitcher Brittany Yocum for the Mustangs watched her teammates build a 5-1 lead after the fourth inning was completed and then ended this game early by scoring six runs during their next at bat. Triton has now won five of their last seven games.
