High School Softball:
Washington Township Breezes By Pennsauken

It was a game that seemed to be played in late October. The Minutemaids from Washington Township were hosting Pennsauken in a battle of finding a way to keep warm on the softball field. These two teams managed to play ball despite all of the cold limbs. The Lady Indians' bats were as frigate as the temperatures as Washington Township recorded a 4-0 victory in an Olympic Conference game.

You could see the reaction on the players' faces as their bats connected with the ball. That stinging sensation ringing in their hands was felt as the ball met with the bat on every hit. On this day, The Minutemaids were the team to fight off the weather and put their minds on the game.

In the bottom of the third inning, Gina D'Amico tripled to the right-centerfield fence with one out. Two batters later, Angelina Lino singled in the only run needed for starting pitcher Kristy Pron. Washington Township would add three more runs in the fifth inning to advance their record to 10-2.
