This was a chance for Ocean City to prove that they could compete with a team with a winning record from another conference. The Red Raiders would play their host Minutemaids from Washington Township evenly for the first twenty-five minutes and were looking to maintain that intensity. The start of the second half was a different story as Mandy Silvesti scored three straight goals to put the Minutemaids one step ahead for the rest of this game. Silvesti would finish with five goals for Washington Township as they defeat Ocean City by a 13-9 margin.

Both teams had the one goal advantage through the first half. The Red Raiders would hold a lead but the Minutemaids would respond with each lead Ocean City would establish. This evenly matched girl’s lacrosse game would end in a five all tie at the half. The Red Raiders would start the second half with a goal lead only to see Silvesti tie and then put Township ahead by two goals, 8-6. Ocean City would not give up and matched their opponent’s success putting the ball into the net. But in the end, Township would use patience and control the play for the remainder of their four goal victory.
