Tom Ruiz and Jack McDonough each scored two goals as Williamstown defeated Timber Creek 6-2 in action at Hollydell. William Justice got the start in goal and played a solid game. After Ruiz made it 1-0 midway through the first period, Jonathan Anderson scored on a breakaway to put Williamstown up 2-0. Brian Scully got that one back for Timber Creek as his backhander from the slot beat Justice at the three minute mark to cut the lead to 2-1 after one period.

Early in the second period Ruiz had a breakaway and had the puck slide off his stick. Ruiz stayed with the play and from behind the net tried to jam home the puck and after the initial save was made, McDonough was there to put home the rebound and the lead was at 3-1. McDonough scored a power play goal on a breakaway to put Williamstown up 4-1, but seconds later Dan Cavallaro answered for Timber Creek to make it 4-2. Goals by Ryan Carrigan and McDonough put the game out of reach as Williamstown won going away 6-2. This team could be heard from next year as they return 90% of their roster.

Notes: Timber Creek is sponsoring the 3rd Annual John Payne Jr. Memorial Middle School Tournament to be played at Hollydell on February 27, 28 and 29. For more information, contact the rink.
