Gladiators Skate Into First Place

There is a midget "AA" Atlantic Youth Hockey League team who skates out of the Flyers SkateZone in Pennsauken Township and they are called Gladiator Legions. They went into first place in the Atlantic Youth district when they defeated the American Eagles 3 to 2. The Legions has played twelve league games to date and has a record of 6-2-4. Chip Shin has been the head coach for the Gladiator Legion Midget "AA" program for the past four years, with the help of assistant coaches Allen Pew and Gary Williams.

The Gladiators went against the American Eagles from Wall Township to record the 3-2 victory on their home ice. The Legions had goals from Frank Pew, Joe Gori and Philip Cordivari. Assisting on those goals were Kevin Deal, John Schullenhammer and Frank Pew. Goaltender David Scardillo had 32 saves. The team from Wall Township put up a valiant effort in their loss. The Eagles had goals from Chris Benard and AJ Petruzel. Assisting were Jonathan Eaton, Mike Dowd and Douglas Morgan. Matthew Fledman had 23 saves for the Eagles.
