Philadelphia Phantoms left wing Nick Deschenes will be camping out for 24 hours on the roof of Sam's Club in Williamstown, N.J. this Saturday, Aug. 28 to benefit the Children's Miracle Network at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Deschenes' camp-out will begin at 11:00 a.m. and run through the following morning.

Collection bins and canisters will be set up outside the store's entrance (2080 N. Black Horse Pike) so people can stop by and support Deschenes' quest to raise money to support patient care programs at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

"I look forward to raising a lot of money for The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia this weekend," said Deschenes. "The people at Sam's Club and the Children's Miracle Network deserve a lot of credit for setting up such an original event. I just hope it doesn't rain on me!"

In addition to Deschenes' camp-out, Sam's Club will also be hosting a car and boat show in the parking lot from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The event will include games and attractions for kids, including the Phantoms Inflatable. Team mascot Phlex is also set to make an appearance that afternoon.

Deschenes was the Phantoms' AHL Man of the Year last season for his outstanding contributions to the community and charitable organizations.

The Phantoms kick off their 2004-05 season on Saturday, Oct. 16 in Hartford, while the team's home opener is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 22 vs. Hamilton. To place a deposit on a game plan or season tickets, please call 215-465-4522, or log on to www.phantomshockey.com.
