Philadelphia Wings forward Andrew Burkholder was named the NLL's Rookie of the Week for his performances against the Toronto Rock this past weekend. Burkholder scored three goals and collected five loose balls in a 15-11 loss to Toronto at the Wachovia Center on Saturday, April 9. Burkholder also recorded four points (2G, 2A) in a 14-13 loss to the Rock at the Air Canada Centre on Sunday, April 10.

"Andrew's come along nicely this season," said Wings Head Coach Lindsay Sanderson. "He didn't play for us much early on, but has really come into his own the latter half of the season."

Burkholder has 29 points (16G, 13A) in ten games for the Wings this season. The St. Catharine's, ON native was acquired by the Wings in a trade with the Toronto Rock on December 3, 2004.

The 5'9", 175 pound forward was named Rookie of the Month and captured two consecutive Rookie of the Week awards during the month of February. He earned his first award for his four points (2G, 2A) and four loose balls in the Wings win over the Buffalo Bandits on Friday, February 25 and the second for his four-goal game against the Minnesota Swarm on Sunday, February 20.

The Wings face the Minnesota Swarm in their final game of the 2005 season on Friday, April 15 at the Xcel Energy Center at 7:30 p.m.
