The Philadelphia Wings have signed defenseman Dan Finck for the 2005-06 season. Finck, a member of the 2005 All-Rookie Team received two Rookie of the Week awards during the 2005 season. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed. Finck and the team agreed to terms on September 27th.
"Dan had a great rookie season, and will be a key part in the success of our team this coming season" said Wings General Manager and Head Coach Lindsay Sanderson. "Dan has been working hard and playing great over the summer for the Barrie Lakeshores of the Ontario Lacrosse League, he has really impressed me with his dedication to improving his skills."
Finck finished the season with 16 points (10G, 6A) and recovered 73 loose balls in 14 games played. The 5'10", 190-pound defenseman was drafted by the Wings in the second round (14th overall) in the 2004 NLL Entry Draft.
The Wings also signed forward Luke Wiles and Chad Thompson two of their first round draft picks from the 2005 NLL Entry Draft. Wiles drafted (fourth overall) played collegiately at the University of Delaware and defenseman Chad Thompson drafted (ninth overall) has been playing for the Barrie Lakeshores of the Ontario Lacrosse League.
"Both Wiles and Thompson are young players that have the talent to step into the lineup and make a huge impact. They should add tremendous depth to our roster this year" said Wings General Manager and Head Coach Lindsay Sanderson.
