Bergey Stings Swarm in 15-11 Philadelphia Win
Rookies Contribute Five Goals as Wings Remain Undefeated

ST, PAUL, MN - The Philadelphia Wings (2-0) remain undefeated as they defeated the Minnesota Swarm by a score of 15-11at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, MN. Nine-year veteran Jake Bergey powered the Wings with three goals on the night, while rookies Sean Greenhalgh, Chad Thompson, and Luke Wiles continued to be a factor contributing five overall goals. The Wings will face the Swarm again next Saturday, January 14 in their home opener at Wachovia Center at 8 p.m.

"We had another strong fourth quarter tonight," said Wings' General Manager and Head Coach Lindsay Sanderson. "But Minnesota is a tenacious team and we'll see them in another week. "

Bergey, kept the Wings alive after a slow start, with three goals in the first three quarters. The Wings held a narrow 10-9 lead three quarters of play, but the Wings offense came alive in the fourth quarter, scoring five straight goals, while holding the Swarm's offense to just three.

Wiles led all rookies in scoring, with five points on the night (2G, 3A) including a short-handed goal at 8:00 in the fourth quarter. Thompson recorded four points (2G, 2A) in his first National Lacrosse League Game, while Greenhalgh, last week's NLL Player and Rookie of the Week had three points (1G, 2A).

Leading the Wings in scoring were Dan Marohl with eight points (2G, 6A), Jake Bergey with five points (3G, 2A), Luke Wiles with five points (2G, 3A), Mark Morley with four points (3G, 1A), Chad Thompson with four points (2G, 2A), Sean Greenhalgh with three points (1G, 2A), and Keith Cromwell and Brock Robertson with one goal each.

Leading Minnesota in scoring were former Wing Ryan Ward with six points (4G, 2A), Kasey Biernes with six points (3G, 3A), Chad Culp with four points (2G, 2A), Jamie Taylor with four points (1G, 3A) and Brock Boyle with one goal.

Notes: The Wings open the home portion of the 2006 season at the Wachovia Center on Saturday, January 14 at 8 p.m. vs. the Minnesota Swarm.
