“A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals.” - Anonymous

The Junior Team USA for Inline Roller Hockey was selected at the USA Roller Sports selection camp in Wixom, MI on May 2, 2004. Among the athletes chosen for this team was our own 17-year old Jess Creek who will be one of the two goalies to compete for the starting job. Jesse has worked hard to make it this far and, as you may also know, has overcome a serious injury that made him miss an entire season two summers ago.

The Junior Team USA will represent the United States at the World Cup Championships in London-Ontario, Canada June 28-July 4. The Junior Canadian Team is expected to be particularly strong this year and, of course, they will enjoy the “home court advantage”. Jesse and his 14 teammates will have their hands full in trying to bring home the Gold medal for the US. This is an exceptional honor for these athletes to not only represent their country, but also their community. At the present time the sport of Roller Hockey is not an Olympic event. The World Cup competition is the closest thing to the Olympics for Roller Hockey until Roller Hockey is added as a category in the 2008 Olympics.

Please send along your words of encouragement to Jesse by return email (dick.creek@verizon.net). The support of friends and community are greatly appreciated. As with many sports organizations, the cost to send these athletes to this event is several thousands dollars. It is for this reason that the Junior Team is soliciting funds for sponsorship. If you, your employer, or civic organization is interested in helping to sponsor the team, please see the information below. Feel free to forward this email to others to send Jesse your encouragement and support.

Go Team USA!!!
