Two teams, the Highland Panthers and the Berlin Township Hurricanes, faced off at the Edgewood Avenue soccer complex in Berlin Township. Neither had won a game in the U-9 Division 5 of the South Jersey Girls Soccer League. The U-9 and U-10 teams play on a smaller field and play 8v8. It was a great day to play. The sun was shining and it was not that hot. The girls on both teams gave it their all as the play moved up and down the pitch.

The Highland Panthers jumped out to a 1-0 lead, in the first half, on a nice shot to the far post just out of the reach of the Hurricanes goalie. The Berlin Township Hurricanes came back and scored off of a re-start just out side the 14-yard box on the right side. The goal was kicked over the head of the Panthers goalie and was also scored in the first half. In the second half, both teams had chances to win, but great goaltending and luck kept the game tied at 1-1. Both teams got the ball by the goalie and hit a post, but didn't have enough to cross the line. Both teams pick up a point for the tie.
