Philadelphia Signs Chris Fehrle and Damien Pottinger for 2004-05
KiXX Invitational Combine Yields Two More Roster Players, Six in Total

Philadelphia KiXX Executive Vice President/General Manager Greg Bibb announced today that the club has agreed to terms with defender Chris Fehrle and midfielder Damien Pottinger for the 2004-05 Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) season. Both Fehrle and Pottinger participated in the club's invitational combine that was held on September 11-12 at Tri-State Sports, bringing the total number of roster players that were selected from the training to six; the club inked deals with forwards John Barry Nusum and Gary Brooks and defenders Devlin Barnes and Ptah Myers on October 12. As per League policy, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

Fehrle, a Philadelphia native joins the KiXX after appearing in three contests with the Syracuse Salty Dogs of the outdoor A-League in 2004. The Syracuse University graduate made his professional indoor debut in the team’s 2004-05 season-opening victory at the Cleveland Force on October 23; the 23-year-old defender recorded three blocks in the contest. A graduate of Holy Ghost Prep (Bensalem, PA), Fehrle was named First Team All-League three times and a Parade Magazine All-American after his junior and senior seasons.

A native of Toronto, Ontario, Pottinger registered four points (goal, two assists) in seven games with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the Premier Soccer League’s (PSL) Atlantic Division in 2004. The graduate of Duquesne University was a three-year letterman and starter with the Dukes soccer team and concluded his collegiate career as the university’s all-time leading scorer with 89 career points, 38 career goals and 212 career shots. After his senior season, Pottinger was named NSCAA Second Team All-American, the Atlantic-10 Offensive Player of the Year and Atlantic-10 First Team All-Conference.

Fehrle, Pottinger and the rest of the KiXX are back in action on Friday, November 5 for the opening game of a back-to-back set that kicks-off versus the two-time defending MISL Champion Baltimore Blast at the 1st Mariner Arena. Game-time is slated for 7:35 pm ET. The club then returns to the Wachovia Spectrum to conclude the series by entertaining the Blast in the team’s 2004-05 home opener on Saturday, November 6. The first 5,000 fans to enter the gates will receive a 2004-05 Philadelphia KiXX Magnetic Schedule, courtesy of Jake’s Dog House. Game-time is scheduled for 7:05 pm, with doors opening at 6:00 pm ET.
