The Vineland Lynx under-15 boys soccer team snared 2nd place in the Vineland Memorial Day Tournament playing stiff competition from the tri-state area. First, the Lynx crushed Atlantic United 6-2. Steve Ganci got the hat trick (3). Goals were also scored by Rick Adams, Julius Mendez, and Mike VonSuskil.

The Lynx next opponent was the Indian Mills Spirit. The Lynx dominated the action in route to a 4-1 win. Jaron Putman, Giovanni Pena, and Ganci (2) all found the net for the Vineland squad.

The final game of the tournament was for the championship of their division. This time the foe was Lancaster (Pa.) United. United scored first, and then a Lynx corner kick by Steve Ganci to Rick Adams tied the score just before the first half ended. United was able to score to have a 2-1 advantage in the second half. Adam Chini's "header" in the last 10 minutes of the match tied the game at 2-2. Even though the match ended in a tie and both teams had identical records, overtime was not allowed by tournament rules. Therefore the Lynx lost first place based on bonus points accumulated in previous matches.
