On Saturday, November 28, four teams made up the U7-U8 division for Soccer International's 2nd Annual Turkey Shootout. The teams consisted of Haddon Heights, Mt. Laurel, and two teams from Berlin Township (one boys and one girls). Each team played 3 games at Soccer City, located on Rt. 73 in Winslow Township, New Jersey.

The first game of the Shootout was the Berlin Township Boys vs. the Berlin Township Girls Power (sponsored by South Jersey Sports Online). The game had a lot of action going up and down the field. The coaches were changing players on the fly and the kids were having a lot of fun. The boys defeated the girls in a very fun game.

The second game had Haddon Heights vs. Mt. Laurel Phantoms. The game was controlled by the Phantoms, who were very well coached. The players for the Phantoms have been playing together for the past 3 years. The Phantoms won with the team getting a shutout.

The third game had the Mt. Laurel Phantoms vs. Berlin Township Girls Power. The Phantoms again took control of the game. The Girls did not give up and scored the only goal against the Phantoms in the Shootout. The game was won by the Phantoms.

The fourth game saw Haddon Heights vs. Berlin Township Boys. What a game; the score was 2-2 at half. The Berlin Township Boys then scored the next two goals to take a 4-2 lead. With about 1:25 seconds left, Haddon Heights scored to make it 4-3. The Berlin Township Boys held on for the win.

The fifth game saw Berlin Township Boys vs. Mt. Laurel Phantoms. This game, just like the others, was controlled by the Phantoms. They took the tired Berlin Township Boys and shut them out. This was the second shutout for the Phantoms, which also clinched first place for them in the Shootout.

The sixth and last game of the night saw Berlin Township Girls Power vs. Haddon Heights. The game had a lot of action with both teams scoring goals. Berlin Township scored the first two, then Haddon Heights scored the next two. Then each team scored a third goal to make the score 3-3. Berlin Township scored the next 3 to take a 6-3 lead, but then Haddon Heights came back and scored the next 3 to tie the game at 6-6.

All of the players from each team were given a medal to show that they participated in the 2nd Annual Soccer International Turkey Shootout.
