South Jersey Softball: Sunday, May 9, 1999
By Brian Law The Smuggler's Rt. 73 men's softball team improved their record to an impressive 9-0 in the All-Star Trophy Sunday League after winning two games this past Sunday. The Smuggler's Rt. 73 team scored a total of 43 runs while only giving up a total of 5. The scores of the two games of the double header with Diamond Detail were Smuggler's 25-2 and 18-3. The bats for Smuggler's were hitting the ball all over the Luke Avenue field. Berlin Township residents Randy Middleman, Andy Scott, Randy Leotti, and Brian Law led the Smuggler's team. The team is off to their best start in recent years. "As long as we continue to put the team first and play hard every game, I see no reason why we can't win it all," said Coach Bob Ely.
