3rd Annual Coed Charity Classic For Special Olympics

You couldn't have scripted a better day to hold the 3rd Annual Coed Charity Classic to benefit Special Olympics. With mostly sunny skies and temperature in the upper 70's, eight teams participated in a one-pitch softball tournament. Cheers, Computer Sciences Corporation, Gary's, Jay's Moorestown, Jay's Mt. Laurel, Myers Landscaping & Irrigation, RAM and Tyco joined together at Jeff Young Fields and Laurel Acres Park to enjoy softball for a good cause.
When all the dust settled, Jay's Moorestown never lost a game in the winner's bracket to advance to the finals. While Cheers, after losing the first game in the winner's bracket, won the next 4 games in the loser's bracket to advance to the finals. Cheers needed to win the first game to force a second game with Jay's Moorestown or be eliminated...and they did. They scored early and often to take a 28 to 2 victory into the final game of the evening. But Jay's Moorestown returned to their winning ways and defeated Cheers 17 to 9 to capture the Charity Softball Classic Trophy.
