Local softball players Mindy Coxe (Gloucester City - Gloucester H.S.), Kasey Mason (Brooklawn - Gloucester H.S.) and Megan Farrell (Medford - Bishop Eustace) helped lead their ASA Junior Olympic 14-U Fastpitch team, the Delaware Orange Crush, to claim the Delaware ASA STATE Championship.

Going 3-0 on Saturday to advance to the championship round undefeated (double elimination format) the Orange Crush was in the driver's seat. A 10-1 win over the Delaware Diamonds followed by a 4-2 win over the Delaware Hurricanes, and then a 10-2 nightcap win over the Talleyville Travellers set the plate. Megan Farrell and Kasey Mason kept the opponents off balance from the mound with Mindy Coxe supplying some big hits. The Talleyville Travellers advanced through the loser's bracket but was faced with the tough task of defeating the Orange Crush twice to claim the state title. The Orange Crush claimed the state title with a convincing 10-2 championship game win.

The Orange Crush now will head to the NSA World Series held in Charlotte, NC competing against 160 14-U teams representing 38 states.
