Freedoms Defeat FoxForce in WTT Match to Improve to 3-5

The Philadelphia Freedoms of the World Team Tennis (WTT.com) defeated the Hartford FoxForce 20-18 in front of 2,110 fans at Cabrini College. The last match, Mixed Doubles, decided the match. With the score tied 15-15 after four matches, the Freedoms pair of Jonathan Stark and Jessica Steck defeated James Blake and Rossana Neffa-de-los Rios 5-3 to give the Freedom the win.

In the earlier matches, the Freedom jumped out to a 5-1 lead as Corina Morariu and Jessica Steck won the women's double against Rossana Neffa-de-los Rios and Bryanne Stewart. Morariu in the next match, women's singles, increased the lead to 10-5 with a 5-4 win over Neffa-de-los Rios. The FoxForce cut into the Freedoms lead as James Blake and Luke Jensen defeated Levar Harper-Griffith and Jonathan Stark 5-3 in the men's doubles to make the score 13-10. The FoxForce tied the match at 15-15 as Blake defeated Harper-Griffith 5-2 in the men's singles. Then the Feedoms won the match as the mixed doubles won 5-3 to make the score Freedom 20- FoxForce 18.

Jaime Roemer said, "Corina Morariu was coming back from a battle with cancer, which was great to see her playing again and Rossana Neffa-de-los Rios was also coming back to play after taking three years off to raise a family."
