Two 60-foot tall "X"s are added to the Philadelphia skyline as preparations continue for X Games VIII at the First Union Complex from Thursday, August 15 through Monday, August 19. The X's will be placed on the speed climbing wall and can be seen from I-76 overpass at Broad Street. Also, painters will begin to paint X Games logos on the Vert ramps and bike dirt ramps as work continues to ready the First Union Complex for the X Games.

The 2002 X Games begins on Thursday, August 15 and continues through Monday, August 19. All events are FREE. Updates to the schedule and additional information are available at www.expn.com.

When completed the set-up for the X Games will consist of 12 miles of television cable, 538 two-way radios, 400 TV production personnel - ten times that of the average NFL game and 25,000 zip ties used to hang signage and fencing.

The First Union Complex will serve as the primary venue for X Games VIII. Competitions in Aggressive In-line skating, Bicycle Stunt riding, Skateboarding, Moto X and Speed Climbing will be held inside and around the First Union Center. Comcast-Spectacor is the proud host of the ESPN X Games.
