Christina Contrafatto, 15 years old, of Cherry Hill in one of South Jersey's up and coming young tennis players. A sophomore at Cherry Hill East high school, Christina is a very active young lady with spending much of her time practicing on the tennis court, but like most teenagers finds time to spend with her friends.

Gladiators Take Game One for Atlantic District Championship

The Gladiator Bantam Elite AA hockey team from Voorhees, New Jersey beat the Quakers hockey team 3-1 in the first game of the Atlantic District finals. The teams face each other again on Saturday to continue the best of 3 game series. The winner of the series will advance to the National Championship in Corral Spring Florida April 3- April 7.

Fresh off of their come-from-behind 5-4 overtime victory against the Toledo Storm, the Boardwalk Bullies picked up where they left off on Sunday.

As the Paralympics took off last week in Salt Lake City, South Jersey Sports Online would like to tell about some local young athletes that some day would like to compete in the Paralympics. They are the Wings of Steel, a sled hockey team of youngsters with disabilities. Sled hockey is hockey played not on skates but seated on a sled with one blade and the legs strapped together at the front of the sled. There are two cropped down sticks that have a metal grabbers at the ends to help push the sled and each stick has a regular hockey blade. Each player is outfitted with the standard protective padding and helmets that hockey players wear.
