Pichon Leads Charge to First Win of Season, 2-1 Over Power

Marinette Pichon scored two goals to lead the Philadelphia Charge to a 2-1 win over the New York Power at Mitchel Athletic Complex on Saturday afternoon. Rookie Hope Solo was forced to make only one save in her first start of the year for the Charge (1-4-0, 3 pts), who ended a four-game losing streak to record their first win of the 2003 season.

Wings Extend Contracts of General Manager and Head Coach For 2004 Season

The Philadelphia Wings have extended the contracts of General Manager Marty O'Neill and Head Coach Adam Mueller through the 2004 season, it was announced today by club President Russ Cline. "While we are disappointed that our team did not make the playoffs this season, we felt that we saw lots of progress in many of our younger players and the team's ability as a whole" said Cline. "We feel that this team is poised to make a Championship run next season under the guidance of Marty and Adam."

With the regular season coming down to its final games, there are a few divisional races that are shaping up to being a dog race. The team that's able to keep up the winning pace will prove to be the winner in a fiercely competitive battle. One of those races was from the Olympic Conference National Division. Two of those teams met head to head with Bishop Eustace hosting the Eagles from Paul VI. The Crusaders would win this race in eight innings outscoring their opponent 6-5.

Hammond Breaks Tie for Cherry Hill East Victory

Katie Hammond scored her only goal of the game with 1:02 left to play, but it was the one that counted in awarding Cherry Hill East (7-6) with a 10-9 win over Camden Catholic (6-6). The win snapped a 3 game losing streak for the Lady Cougars. Julie Lukoff led Cherry Hill East with four goals.

Bishop Eustace Keeps Pace With Win Over East

The Crusaders from Bishop Eustace were looking to increase their number in the win column after losing on Saturday breaking their four game win streak. Cherry Hill East had other plans as were looking to keep pace in the American Division of the Olympic Conference. Both teams needed this game, not only to claim their divisional titles, but also compete against a competitive team preparing them for the upcoming postseason. The Crusaders would use the third and fourth innings to blow past the Cougars by a 9-3 margin.
