South Jersey Baseball: Sunday, July 27, 2003 By Jim Law The Berlin Township Athletic Association recently honored Mr. Frank Buchanan by naming its first wooden bat baseball tournament after him. Mr. Buchanan has served in one capacity or another for the local associations baseball program for the past thirty years. In addition he has been Mr. Baseball in South Jersey for the same time period as an official of Little League and umpires association. Naming the tournament after him is a well-deserved honor. Mr. Buchanan was in attendance for the first pitch of the tournament as well as presentation of the championship awards. Congratulations Frank. |
Saturday, April 13, 2002 By Bob Stuart Along with the opening day of baseball and softball in the world of little league, Berlin Township also opened a new complex at Luke Ave. The complex is made up of four new fields, a walking/biking track, and basketball courts. Every league gets a field; one softball/t-ball field, one minor league, one major league, and a very large Babe Ruth league baseball field. |
Saturday, April 13, 2002 By Boog Williams With the start of another Little League season, Berlin Township honors Frank Buchanan and Frank Adair for their years of service. Frank Buchanan has been helping the players of Berlin Township for the past 30 years. The president of the BTAA, Mr. Brian Dotts said, "Franks served as the BTAA's Baseball Commissioner and was our main liaison with the Little Leagues Williamsport. He has organized several coaching and umpires clinics and was the main organizer for the BTAA Baseball Program." The District 21 Little league Commissioner also honored Frank for his service to the baseball community. Here is what was put on one of the plaque: |
