Working as a weight training instructor, I get opportunities to read different textbooks that are sent with the hopes of being used by my classes. When it comes to a textbook that I would totally throw my support behind, this would be one of them. This publication takes weight training and breaks it down to its most basic form.

It uses language that is easily understood by the novice weight trainer, and it would still be capable of holding the attention of someone who may be a little more advanced. Another pretty decent feature of this book is the Kilogram conversion chart, which is something that some authors sometime overlook in some of the other books that come across my desk.

Thomas Baechle and Barney Groves definitely found a way to improve on the first edition of this book and I am truly glad they have, the book contains 12 chapters of information that shouldnąt be overlooked by the person just starting to weight train. There are also four Appendixes that deal with Alternative Exercises Muscles of the body, Weight Training workout chart and the Kilo conversion chart.

If you are a novice weight training and looking for a book to help you get started, then believe me when I tell you that this is the one for you.
