Saturday, February 11, 2006 By Jason Brown The Chiefs from Cherokee and Middle Township had the opportunity to watch all of or some of the first four games scheduled before them during the day at the Cape-Atlantic Challenge boy's basketball tournament. Hammonton defeated Triton to start the day off and then Pennsauken, St. Joseph and Camden Catholic were the winners of their games. With the Cape Atlantic Conference and Olympic Conference both even at two games apiece, Cherokee would give their conference another win as they defeated the Panthers from Middle Township by a 52-39 margin. |

Saturday, March 5, 2005 By Jerome Michaels There are some games you just have to see in order to believe. Whether he's listed at 7-1 or 7-2, he's still hard to defend against any defense. Haddonfield's junior center Brian Zoubek is not your ordinary seven footer. With excellent ball handling skills in the post, most defenses look to double team the big guy in the middle. The fourth seeded Panthers from Middle Township attempted to slow down Haddonfield’s offense, but the Bulldogs were too much in this South Jersey Group 2 semifinals game played at Rutgers-Camden University. Haddonfield now advances to the finals against Sterling with their 67-57 victory. |

Friday, November 5, 2004 By Susan Hall Things have gotten very interesting in the South Group 2 bracket for this year's field hockey playoffs. Camden Catholic had a bye in the first round as the number two seed and had plenty of time preparing for Middle Township who had advanced with a win over Buena. With their 5-1 victory over the seventh seed, next up for the Irish is a match up with a very successful Haddon Heights team who are looking for their third upset in a row. With their victory today, Camden Catholic's Coach Monica DiBease picked up her 100th career win. |

High School Soccer: Thursday, September 30, 2004 By Stephanie Wright The girl's soccer team from Our Lady of Mercy Academy has gotten off to a good start winning five of their first six games. So far this season, the team has been successful in taking advantage of their opportunities. Those scoring chances have turned into goals and then into victories. In today's game against the Lady Panthers from Middle Township, OLMA completely out shot the Panthers by a 28-7 margin but were trailing by two goals heading into the second half. Two goals in the second have allowed OLMA to extend this Cape-Atlantic Conference game to one more deciding period. Maria Grady would score her 11th goal of the season in overtime to give OLMA the 3-2 come from behind victory. |
