Barons Lose Miles To Wizards But Win the Game

The South Jersey Barons lost their top scorer to the Delaware Wizards. Matt Miles showed up for the match up between the South Jersey Barons and the Delaware Wizards but he showed up for the wrong team. Apparently Matt Miles left the team due to a falling out with Coach Matt Driver. Neither of then would reveal much about the move, but the scuttlebutt around the field was that it had something to do with a disagreement about how Matt was being played. The consensus was that the Barons (7-3) might have a tough time against the (4-4) Wizards with Miles on their side, and that Matt might score a few goals. It wasn't to be. Matt got a goal and an assist and an ejection.

New Jersey's Christie Pearce Helps U.S. Women Win Big

The U.S. Women's soccer team came out in a new formation and scored 11 goals against Trinidad & Tobago. It was the first round of the inaugural year of the CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup. The game was played in front of a crowd of 10,483 soccer fans at the Hersheypark Stadium in the Chocolate Capital of the World, Hershey, PA.

In First Game Of Gold Cup Brazil Wins 8-0

In the opening game of the CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup, the women of Brazil defeated Costa Rica 8-0 at the Hersheypark Stadium in the Chocolate Capital of the World, Hershey, PA.

Berlin Borough Blue Marlins Win Championship

The Berlin Borough Blue Marlins defeated the Berlin Township Red Raiders in the championship game held under the lights at the Berlin Borough Sports Complex. Before the game started, they had to have a coin toss to see which team would be the home team. Berlin Township's Coach Dott called tails and won the toss. Even though the game was at Berlin Borough, it was the team from Berlin Township that was the home team.

Red Raiders Win 2 To Make It To Finals

The Berlin Township Red Raiders started their playoff run on June 15, 2000 against rival Berlin Township Blue Lightning. The teams split the regular series, and the winner of the game would play the winner of the two Clementon teams.
