Rancocas Valley Krafts a Championship

Led by the outstanding play of goaltender Kevin Kraft, Rancocas Valley defeated Eastern 6-4 to win the Middle School championship at the B level. Rancocas had five different players score goals, with Rob Brown scoring twice. Jordan Robichaud led the Vikings attack with two goals. The game was scoreless midway through the first period until Frank Luciano shot the puck from the point. It seem to change direction and found the back of the net to give Rancocas a 1-0 lead.

Seven Goal Second Period Help Wings March Pass The Saints

The Philadelphia Wings scored seven goals in the second period, including three in the first forty five seconds against the New York Saints for a 14-10 win in front of 14,421 loud fans. Kevin Finneran led the Wings with two goals and five assists, while Jake Bergey lit the lamp five times to improved the Wings record to 7-3. Jason Wulder led the Saints with four goals and three assists and Mark Frye chipped in with three goals and two assists.

2001 Flyers Cup Scholastic Championship Begins On March 19

PRESS RELEASE

The Philadelphia Flyers Youth Hockey Department and the Delaware Valley High School Hockey Association today announced the start of the 22nd annual Flyers Cup scholastic ice hockey championship. The tournament will begin on March 19 and end on March 28. Preliminary games will be played at the Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees, NJ, Ice Line in West Chester, PA, Ice Works in Aston, PA, the Face Off Circle in Warminster, PA, Grundy Ice Rink in Bristol, PA, and the Havertown (PA) Skatium.

Mike Moroni - Ice Hockey and Hot Rods

Somerdale resident Mike Moroni plays forward for the Triton Mustangs ice hockey team. Mike has played all of his four years at Triton and with graduation looming, he plans to continue his education at a tech school. He hopes to continue playing after high school and credits the influence and support of his dad and brother Nick for helping him to persevere with practice and game time. Mike spends his down time away from the ice by working on his car and singing with a band. Car racing is also one of his favorites.

The Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League don special Irish green uniforms when they host the New York Saints on St. Patrick's Day (Saturday, March 17) at the First Union Center at 8 p.m. After the game, the Wings will auction off these jerseys benefiting Wings charities.

Written by Tudor Bompa, a man I have a great deal of respect for, this book touches on many different components that go into a good training program. While going through the book, I was surprised. I thought the book would be written in a voice that would be comprehended by its target audience (6 to 18 year olds). It's not. This book is geared for parents and coaches who aren't conditioning coaches but may want to be.
