Both coaches wanted to gain the early edge in the first game by making sure their players were ready for anything. The intensity was present when each coach voiced their opinion on how the game was being called by the referee. After the smoke cleared, Joe Gillespie's Panthers defeated Tech in 3 games.

It's early in the season, but it looks like Cherry Hill East will once again be the dominant team in the South Jersey Boy's Volleyball League and may go all the way to an unprecedented 4th state title in a row! Coach Karl Moehlmann has a team at East that has the talent to remain competitive for years to come. East had little problems putting away the Sterling Silver Knights in two straight games (15-4, 15-4).
