Pratt and Rollins Homer in Phillies 8-2 Win Sunday, August 7, 2005 By Boog Williams On Friday night, the Phillies could only score one run in ten inning, but on Saturday they scored 8 in an 8-2 win over the Brewers and moved within 1 ½ games of the National League Wild Card lead. The Phillies are now ½ game out of second behind the Nationals and only 6 games behind the first place Braves. In front of 35,800 fans, Jon Lieber pitched a very solid game. The first Brewers run was scored when Lieber gave up a second inning double to Geoff Jenkins, who was then driven in on a single by Damian Miller. Lieber only let the Brewers have 2 base runners going into the seventh inning and then gave a solo homerun to Russell Branyan. |

Lynx Defeats Raiders Saturday, August 6, 2005 Public Relations Press Release It was a typical hot day in August as the Trenton Raiders (2-2) hosted the South Jersey Lynx (4-0) at Fisher Middle School in Ewing, NJ. The Lynx entered the contest riding a 3-game win streak. As a matter of fact, the Lynx haven’t lost a regular season game since they became an expansion in the NAFL in 2004. |

Karstens Gets 10th Win in Thunder 7-4 Victory Saturday, August 6, 2005 By Dan Loney Jeff Karstens worked into the 8th Inning after having a one-hitter through six innings to help the Thunder to a 7-4 win on Saturday. A balanced Thunder offense collected 12 hits en route to the win. Karstens became the first Trenton pitcher since Jason Sekany (1999) to record 10 wins in a season. He retired the first 10 batters before 3B Matt Moses singled in the 4th Inning. He then retired the next eight batters in a row. |

South Jersey vs. Trenton Friday, August 5, 2005 By Marty Cross South Jersey Lynx (3-0) take their undefeated team to Ewing, NJ to face the Trenton Raiders (2-1). The Lynx are getting better acquainted with all the teams in the New Jersey Division. For the third consecutive game, they battle a team that they've never faced before. With the Lynx coming off of a hard fought 13-6 win against the New Jersey Terminators; they will be looking to get one week better. |

Thunder Fall to Fisher Cats, 5-2 Thursday, August 4, 2005 By Dan Loney New Hampshire scored four runs in the 1st Inning, including a three-run homer by 3B Rob Cosby, en route to a 5-2 win over Trenton on Thursday night. The Fisher Cats jumped on Thunder starter Steven White right out of the box. CF Miguel Negron led off the inning with a double followed by a walk from 2B Ryan Roberts. LF Ron Davenport singled home Negron for a 1-0 lead. Cosby followed with a three-run homer, his 13th of the year, for a 4-0 advantage. |

Barrage Fall To Bayhawks 19-9 Thursday, August 4, 2005 By Erin Vosburgh The Philadelphia Barrage of Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the premier outdoor lacrosse league, faced off against the Baltimore Bayhawks for the second time this season. Gary Gait was named Bud Light MVP for his G,A) effort for Baltimore. The Bayhawks jumped out to an early lead with a three goal run started by Tom Marechek (A) at 12:50. The Barrage broke their streak with a goal from Michael Springer (A) at 6:32. Springer ended the first with another goal with 39 seconds remaining. The score at the end was Baltimore 4, Philadelphia 2. |

Thunder Blank Fisher Cats, 8-0 Wednesday, August 3, 2005 By Dan Loney Trenton used a balanced attack, which included a three-run homer from Shelley Duncan and three hits from Gabe Lopez, in an 8-0 win over New Hampshire on Wednesday night. The Thunder scored three runs in the 1st Inning off Fisher Cats starter David Purcey. He loaded the bases on two walks and a Michael Coleman single. Eric Duncan then drew a walk to force in a run. Omir Santos followed with a two-run single for a 3-0 lead. The Thunder added a run in the 2nd Inning as Ramiro Pena scored on a passed ball by New Hampshire C Erik Kratz. Purcey (0-2) allowed four runs (three earned) in five innings for the loss. |

Thunder Snap Skid with 5-3 Win Tuesday, August 2, 2005 By Dan Loney Eric Duncan and Omir Santos hit homers to help the Thunder snap a five-game losing streak in a 5-3 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Tuesday night. The homers by Duncan and Santos came on consecutive pitches by Fisher Cats starter Ismael Ramirez in the 5th Inning. It was Duncan's 16th homer and Santos' 9th of the season. Ramirez allowed two runs in 6 2/3 innings. |

Lynx Defeats Terminators Monday, August 1, 2005 By Marty Cross On a glorious day for football, sole possession of first place was at stake. The South Jersey Lynx (3-0, 2-0) hosted the New Jersey Terminators (3-1, 2-1). This is the first time these division rivals have met. If the action in Whitman Park was any evidence of what's to come from these two franchises, that day will circled on many calendars as a must see game. |
