It's All Even with Pennsauken and Triton

When looking at the standings for the Olympic Conference Patriot Division, it's not that hard to assume that the team with the winning record should defeat the team with the losing record. On this day, Pennsauken would be looking to end a seven game losing streak while Triton was seeking their fourth victory in the division. The Lady Mustangs would keep the pressure on Pennsauken's goalie Elise Graham who came up with some big saves in this game. Both teams could only score a goal apiece and Triton and Pennsauken would end up in a one all tie.

Surf Defeat Patriots 7-3, Force Game Three

The Atlantic City Surf defeated the Somerset Patriots 7-3 Wednesday night at Commerce Bank Ballpark to force a deciding game three in the South Division playoffs. Atlantic City got two RBI from Ozzie Timmons, Julian Yan and Melvin Rosario plus strong pitching from its bullpen to earn the victory. Game three is tonight at 7:05 p.m. where Atlantic City's Mark Persails will face Somerset's Tim Christman.

It's a thought that enters most players mind over and over again. There are those with visions of receiving a pass from your teammate and being able to kick the winning goal for your team. In a Colonial Conference game held at Collingswood High School, Audubon has been finding different ways of winning this season. In a very close competition for two halves, the Lady Green Wave found another way to extend their winning streak to three games by defeating the Panthers by a 1-0 margin.

Wings Sign All-Rookie Team Defenseman Dan Finck

The Philadelphia Wings have signed defenseman Dan Finck for the 2005-06 season. Finck, a member of the 2005 All-Rookie Team received two Rookie of the Week awards during the 2005 season. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed. Finck and the team agreed to terms on September 27th. Finck finished the season with 16 points (10G, 6A) and recovered 73 loose balls in 14 games played. The 5'10", 190-pound defenseman was drafted by the Wings in the second round (14th overall) in the 2004 NLL Entry Draft.

Bishop Eustace Keeps One Step Ahead

When the first day of the week begins, it's the time for teams to either build on or rebuild on their performance from the previous week. New adjustments are made to either refine the plays that worked or didn't work. What was working for the Lady Crusaders from Bishop Eustace was their success on the field. This time hosting Cherry Hill West, the Crusaders would start their week out picking up their second straight shutout. Three different players scored goals for Bishop Eustace as they posted a 3-0 victory over the Lady Lions.

South Jersey Lynx Press Release

South Jersey Lynx are the 2005 New Jersey Division Champions. In a thrilling football game, the Lynx (8-1, 9-1) held on for a 19-8 win over rival New Jersey Terminators (7-2, 8-2) on a chilly night in North Jersey. Coming into this game both teams knew that it would be a battle because of their previous contest which the Lynx won 13-6. It was another great defensive battle. Edwin Diaz opened the scoring when Marty Cross threw a strike and Diaz took the pass and rumbled 70 yards for the score. Ryan Peterson converted the extra point.

Atlantic League Sets Attendance Record

The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball announced today that attendance has surpassed two million for the first time in the league’s eight-year history. As the regular season comes to a close on Sunday, a record 2,005,114 fans have passed through the gates at eight ballparks. The previous single-season high was set in 2002.

Senior cross country star Joelle Diener posted the best 5K time of her career with a 21:10.68 to finish ninth out of 132 runners at Rutgers-Camden’s season-opening Philadelphia Metro Small College Championships Sept. 24 in Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park. Diener’s previous best 5K time was 21:27.3 at the NJAIAW meet Oct. 2, 2004.
