The first game was NTI and Berlin Rotary. R. Sheehan for NTI continued his goal scoring. The game had a lot of great defense. Rotary's E. Iannaco and sister F. Iannaco playing fantastically. NTI's G. Morris, K. Soistmann played their best game of the year. T. Finnigan had the shutout for NTI while K. Rhodes allowed one goal.

The first game had the high powered offense of Xerox against powerful Berlin Rotary. The game went end to end for the first half. Rotary's T. Beaver hit the post to end the half at 0-0. The second half belonged to Xerox opening scorer by C. Steiner.Then D. Law deposited 3 goals for the hat trick and player of the game. J. Voigt recorded the shutout with help from M.Patterson. Rotary's K.Hackman and K. Rhodes played a wonderful game.

More great soccer action in BTAA Pee Wee week three. In the first game, Berlin Rotary played AEF. Rotary 's goal scorer was M. Foster assisted by E. Iannacco for the only goal of the game. S. Lemm recorded the shutout. AEF had great play by B. Miller and G. Gaynor. Once again AEF goalie R. Pinson kept them in the game.

Week two brought more excitement to the midget program. The first game saw team Xerox score three goals from C. Steiner, D. Law, A. Marone, and also great play by P. Dawson. The AEF played a great game. Their star players were A. Parisi, M. Wozny and A. Silva.

Opening Day For Youth Soccer

It was opening day for Youth Soccer in South Jersey, and what a beautiful day. The sun was shining, the grass was finally green, and the kids were playing hard. I was asked by a friend to take photos of his son's soccer game. They started playing at 12:30. I made him a deal; if he would write an article, I would come to take photos, and he did. Unfortunately, I didn't know that I was going to be roped into covering two more games after his, but it was fun seeing kids playing and having a good time.

Opening Day For BTAA Pee Wee Soccer

The season started bright and early Saturday morning. The opener saw great action between teams American Express Financial Advisors (AEF) and National Telecommunications Inc. (NTI). Team AEF started scoring early in the second quarter with a blast from the foot of S. Shainline,then two minutes later Shainline scored again. Team NTI came back with a hat trick from R. Sheehan. Then team AEF tied the gamed with a goal from K. Anderson.

BTAA Pee Wee Soccer: The Start of A New Season

The Berlin Township Athletic Association Pee Wee soccer started practicing for the 1999 season this past week. The teams are made up of boys and girls ages 5, 6, and 7 years old. This year, the teams will be playing at a new location. It is the Day Avenue Field; BTAA roller hockey also played at this site.

On Saturday May 8th, the Berlin Township girl's soccer team (in purple and black) played visiting Upper Township (in green) at the Luke Avenue sports complex in Berlin Township. It was the first hot, windy, sunny day of the soccer season and it took its toll on the players. Berlin Township held on to win the game 3 to 2.
