Haddon Heights traveled to Berlin Township Tuesday night and defeated Berlin Twp. 11-1 in SJGSA league play. Haddon Heights took an early lead in the first inning scoring one run. Berlin Twp. answered in the second inning when Lauren Buscemi scored on a walk by Erin Tideman with bases loaded.

Berlin Boro Wins Rain Make-Up

First rain, then the Memorial Day holiday prevented the Berlin Township #2 and the Berlin Boro girls from playing until Tuesday, June 8th. The heat and humidity were very high, so the girls were dressed in shorts, and had lots of water on hand.

After Tough Week, Berlin Township #2 Wins Two

After a week of back to back losses and then the rain taking away a game, the girls were ready to start swinging the bats and throwing the ball. The first game was on Saturday, May 22 against Berlin Boro and the second game was Tuesday, May 25 against Clementon. The makeup game because of rain is tentatively scheduled to be played on June 1.

On Tuesday, May 11th, the grudge game was played as Berlin Township Team #2 took on Berlin Township Team #1. In the first meeting Team #2 won by one run, but this game was not even close. Team #1, led by J. Bloom and A. Jarrell, hit the ball all over the field. They scored a lot of runs and did not look back. For Team #2, S. Immendorf, M. Foster and M. Williams played well.

Berlin Township Team 2 Update

On April 27, Berlin Boro #1 team traveled to Berlin Township for a 6 PM game against Township #2 team. Both teams had a lot of fun as the game ended in a tie. The cold and lack of sunlight called the game. Both teams were happy with their play. For Township, M. Pigliacelli, K. Villano, M. Dotts, K. McKelvey, and E. LaRosa played outstanding.

What a glorious day to play softball. Opening day for the BTAA turned out to be a perfect sun filled day. A day that saw two girls rookie softball teams of players between the ages of 7 and 8 meet, some playing for the first time. A day filled with fun, laughter, and of course some good pitching, hitting, and running. Team Sundae Drivers played Berlin Township Team 2. The final score was 9-8 in favor of Township Team 2.

BTAA Rookie Softball League Opener

The softball gods must have been waiting for this day to come. It was a beautiful day, with the temperature in the 70's and the sun shining. The game is in a girl's instructional softball league. Most of these players are playing softball for the first time. All girls are the ages of 7 or 8. The girls pitch, and balls and strikes are called by an umpire, but they cannot walk a run home.

BTAA Opening Day Of Many Games

On Saturday, the Berlin Township Athletic Association opened their season of baseball and softball. The rain from the night before pushed opening day games back one hour on two of the three fields, and 2 1/2 hours on the major league field. The coaches and AA members worked to get the fields ready for play. The day was sunny, but breezy, as the players, parents, families, and friends made their way to the fields at the John F. Kennedy school in West Berlin. The games started at 10 a.m. and lasted through 8 p.m.
