Bedway recorded a 6-1, 6-1 win over Katie Detweiler, improving her singles record to 9-1 on the season. |

Tennis Spotlight: Friday, October 8, 2004 By Bob Heller The USP women's tennis team made it three wins in a row with a 6 1/2-2 1/2 win over Widener University. The Devils captured five of the six singles matches to assure themselves of their third consecutive win. Amanda Bedway (Fr., Blue Mountain HS/Orwigsburg, PA) continues to dominate at #1 singles, defeating Stephanie Boyko 6-2, 6-1 for her seventh singles win of the season (7-1). Michelle Inzillo (Jr, Atlantic City HS/Margate, NJ) took the #2 singles match with an 8-6 pro-set win over Madonna Fiero for her fourth singles win of the season. |

USP's lone win came at #1 singles as Amanda Bedway (Fr., Blue Mountain HS/Orwigsburg, PA) rallied from a one-set deficit to defeat Jenn Keller 6-7 (7-5), 6-1, 6-1. Tennis Spotlight: Thursday, September 23, 2004 By Bob Heller The USP women's tennis team evened their record at 2-2 with their first ever win against Division II area rival West Chester University this afternoon, defeating the Golden Rams 5-4. Starting the match with the doubles competition, USP dropped two of the three matches to trail 2-1 heading into singles competition. The Devils #1 doubles team of Amanda Bedway (Fr., Blue Mountain HS/Orwigsburg, PA) and Michelle Inzillo (Jr, Atlantic City HS/Margate, NJ) turned in the only doubles win on the afternoon for the Devils, an 8-6 pro-set victory over Amanda Zern and Sheila Sheridan. |
Tennis Spotlight: Friday, April 16, 2004 By Bob Heller Last year, the Caldwell men's tennis team walked off the court against the Devils after securing enough points to win the match and defaulted in their final four contests on the afternoon. This year, it was a different story as the USP men's tennis team was not going to let that happen again. This time the Devils got the five wins necessary to win the match, and stayed to complete the match, winning by a final score of 5-3. |

The Devils took five of the six singles matches to seal the win early. The Devils split their six singles matches with Eastern, winning the #3, #4 and #6 singles. Olufemi Ogunkorode defeated Eric Bowe 6-0, 6-3 to take the #3 singles while Dan Lewycky took the #4 singles match with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Brian McClincey. Yusuf Hassanali won at #6 singles, defeating James Berg, 6-2, 6-3. |
